I was talking to Matt the other day, about the proliferation of free website-building programs available on the web. We also discussed the not so free options with companies like Thompson and Yell, which are actually website rental options.

It got me thinking: why would anyone pay for a website designer when there are so many options to do-it-yourself?

Well, many, many small start-ups do do it themselves.
